More than 130 Lead DSM graduates and community members contribute to our commitees. Learn about each committee below!
Alumni Committee: Plans events for alumni, providing meaningful opportunities to continue to learn and stay engaged with Lead DSM and the community.
Community Connect Committee (program graduates): Evaluates and improves the curriculum to achieve the learning goals of the class members. Leads the selection process and serves as a group of liaisons for program participants and mentors.
Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Curriculum Committee (program graduates): Develops, implements, and evaluates the curriculum to achieve the learning goals of the class members. Leads the nomination and selection process of participants.
Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Project Committee (program graduates): Identifies class projects, develops a scope of practice and timeline, and guides the projects to achieve the learning goals of the class members.
Development Committee: Build relationships, secures corporate sponsorships, identifies grant opportunities, promotes individual giving, and grows membership in the 1982 Society to ensure a solid financial foundation for Lead DSM.
Equity & Inclusion Committee: Ensures equity and Inclusion permeates, impacts and improves all areas of Lead DSM, including program recruitment, curriculum evaluation, and alumni engagement. Note: The E&I Committee is currently working with a DEI consultant to evolve a new strategy and will resume regular committee activity once that is complete.
Youth Leadership Initiative Committee: Develops, implements, and evaluates the curriculum to achieve the learning goals of the students. Leads the selection process and serves as a group of liaisons and role models for program participants.
